EPFL Excellence Fellowships: EPFL offers a limited number of fellowships at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level to students with outstanding academic records. Some of the fellowships are financed by EPFL directly and others through partnerships with foundations or companies.

EPFL Excellence Fellowships | Scholarship value/inclusions/duration

The fellowship includes CHF 10’000 per semester and a reservation of a student room in a student residence.

For Bachelor’s studies, the fellowship is spread over three years while for Master’s studies, the fellowship will be paid for 4 semesters (students must have obtained at least 50 ECTS credits and have an overall average of 5,0/6 for the fellowship to be renewed.)

EPFL Excellence Fellowships | Eligibility

EPFL grants a limited number of fellowships to the most deserving candidates based on their academic records. They are intended for students who have achieved remarkable results throughout their pre-university curriculum, in both school and extracurricular activities.

In order to be eligible for this fellowship, students in their final year of high school must check the corresponding box on their Bachelor’s application form before April 30th and provide the requested application file.

• Master’s degree: In order to be eligible for this fellowship, interested students must check the corresponding box on their Master’s application form and provide the requested application file.

While the academic background is a crucial point in the evaluation of applications, EPFL also takes into consideration the candidates’ experiences in various areas such as research (publications, prizes or fellowships), entrepreneurship (patent applications, start-up creation), or societal commitment (associative or civic activities, organization of festivals and events). Therefore, all outstanding achievements enriching the students’ profile will be taken into account.

In order for the fellowship to be renewed for the second year of the Master’s degree, students must have obtained at least 50 ECTS credits and have an overall average of 5,0/6.
